Strange.

Just saw that YAHOO MOVIES has me credited as "visual development" artist on the Disney short, RUNAWAY BRAIN, but has incorrectly spelled my name as "Stephen Destephano'.

Oh well.

Ryan,
yes, good. Okay.
More Shank drawings, coming up.
Weird how I zeroed in on Don to feature on my blog.
I don't know why, but I have more doodles of his than anyone else from the Spumco days.
If only I could find Pete Avonzino's brilliant tone piece, "MOUTH. ANUS. BARNEY."
THAT was brilliat!

Not 'brilliat'.
Brilliant.
That's what I meant.

Don Shank is among the best of our modern cartoon artists.

Speaking of which, didn't Shank do most of the layouts for Ren & Stimpy's "An Abe Divided"?

Mr. Semaj,
no argument here; Don is among the best.
Many years ago, I had a conversation with Lynne Naylor about the talent in the industry, and she told me that the three guys that absolutely blew her away with their abilities were John K., Craig Kellman and Don Shank (and this from the woman who's married to Chris Reccardi).
Not to take it away from Don, but of course the studio boasted some exceptional drawing talent, including Mike Kim, Mike Fontanelli, Chris Mitchell, Jim Smith, Charlie Bean, Carey Yost, Chris Reccardi and Bob Camp. Possibly I saved Don's drawings because they were the creepiest. In a good kind of way.
Yes, Don did lay out on "An Abe Divided", supervised by Mike Kim. Not a great cartoon, but one of the better looking productions from a DeStefano storyboard, in my opinion.
