Katb*t BG Keys

I was trying to incorporate everything I'd learned about BG Design on Ren and Stimpy into the never produced KATB*T show, but with an eye towards creating something relatively new. I was conscious that I wanted to vear away from the 1950's "UPA" style that's so prevalent in animation today.

Those are great BGs. A lot of contrasting shapes in them. So much more interesting than what you see on TV today.

Nice LO's
That All Mart reminds me of a Bowling Alley I use to go to when I was in grade school (for birthday parties and such). However it had two humps, identical to your drawing.

The trees and the bus stop are simply brilliant. very graphic, instantly recognizable, and interesting to look further into.

I thought it was enough that your background designs looked awesome but...those boards are FAN~tastic.
Way to make me feel even MORE inadequate as an artist, hah (and my spelling probably).
Probably not without reason though, i could use a "wake up" call.
Keep up the awesome sir.

Ahhh... The old Katb*t days. I remember these Backgrounds, and they are as aw-inspiring now as they were when I first saw them.

As weird as this will sound, you visited my dream the other night, literally stopped in to say hi. And then I saw these on your blog the next day. Katb*t get out of my head! These still rock though.
